24 Hours Later...

...and Google still doesn't know who the 9th President of Ireland is.

When presenting celebs with gifts... your homework first.

One poor fan didn't realise Madonna has an intense disliking for hydrangeas. I can't believe they would make such a mistake.

Google Instant: The End of Feeling Lucky?

Today, Google announced the introduction of Google Instant, helping search break the speed of the type-barrier. And while I love the instantaneous results, I can't help but wonder, what about the I'm Feeling Lucky button? Is this the end of it? Will it be gone from out lives forever?

Let's hope they find a new place for our little friend. I can't imagine a life without luck.

Up and down and left and right...

I still love looking at 360 degree photos and Google Map's Street View can be great fun to play around with - incidentally, there are some interesting stories going about that advertising may be introduced to Street View...but that's for some other day's writing - today I'm just gona be geeky and get excited about new technology!

This 360 degree video from CNN of the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake is just incredible!

The video was made by Immersive Media who have a few demo videos here.

Exciting, isn't it?!

The Lady isn't Gaga

In a recent article, Mika claimed the infamous Lady Gaga image of weirdness and bizarrity (yes, that's a new word for me too but I've now written it on the net which makes it a real word - just you wait - all the cool kids will be using it soon) was a mere fabrication by the Lady, herself. Now, this isn't much of a surprise to (m)any of us - its quite obvious that her entire image is purely part of a marketing strategy. And quite an impressive strategy is too and it has worked extremely well for her. Yet, what has always surprised me is how Lady Gaga's image has held up so robustly - you don't see her out shopping in her Sunday sweats, her past is still quite hazy and she always keeps you guessing - is she a he? Has she lady and man bits? Is she from another planet? Did she exist before last year? But the lack of answers to these questions just strengthens her outlandish image.

Lately various videos have been popping up on Youtube, that do show there is more to Lady Gaga than just this bizarre image - she is clearly a talented, bright individual. However, this recent interview on Ellen is my favourite - it really shows that there is a Lady behind those glasses. Her name is Stefani.

The next big flashmob

There's going to be a Michael Jackson Tribute Flashmob (similar to the one posted below) happening at/in St. Stephen's Green tomorrow (Saturday, 14th July) at 12pm. Sadly, I'm "otherwise engaged" and can't attend. I'm slightly gutted, given my obsession with flashmobs. I urge you all to go along for what is likely to be an amazing experience (or, given Ireland's previous attempts at flashmobs, embarrassingly crap). Either way, it will be worth a look!
